1995-1996 Project Manager

Marsh & McLennan, Inc.

Project Manager responsible for the migration of 80 sites, world-wide to Advantis (IBM) multi-protocol Wide Area Network (WAN).

Establish and enable procedures and methodology for vendor installation of Telco circuits and equipment in excess of 80 MMI offices, U.S. Domestic, UK and Continent.

Prepare router configurations for all sites for IP, IPX, SNA traffic for the performances of remote client server and Novell file attachments, file and print sharing.

Establish and enable Wide Area Network First Level Help-Desk procedures for troubleshooting on router (Cisco 4000/7000ís), LARSE T1, AT&T Comsphere 3610 CSU, Cabling and proper physical connectivity.

Establish and enable migration project plan for non LAN-based sites to Wide Area Network.

Establish and enable complete asset inventory of Symplex network, Phone Systems, as well as equipment supporting Advantis WAN for every MMI site.

Establish and coordinate problem resolution regarding engineering issues between Advantis and other MMI vendors as well as with Distributed software group comprising issues surrounding RMON and SNMP configuration on Management Software (Spectrum, HP OpenView), trouble-shooting issues to Server and Workstation level on new installations; proper IP, et-alia addressing; router configuration compatibility, etc.

Project Manager: Cabletron.

  • Work with engineering staff to ensure proper LAN design utilizing Cabletron solution for expanding Token Ring environments as well as track all Cabletron deliverables and installations.
  • Establish and enable methodology for site support during and after installation.
  • Liaison for general issues requiring problem resolution.

Committee Member: Disaster Recovery.

  • Establish Disaster Recovery Scenarios, Guidelines and Procedures for Symplex and Advantis and Marsh & McLennan remote LAN environments

Committee Member: Distributed Systems Management.

  • Work with Systems Developers in determining proper WAN infrastructure and support for developing client-server distributed systems including trans-atlantic X.25, frame relay and extant circuit upgrades.
